Doggie Day Care

Dogs are pack animals and respond best to a balanced, stable pack dynamic. We routinely work with Dan McGuirk, a dog trainer and behavior consultant, to insure that we are creating and maintaining this stable dynamic in order to provide all dogs with a naturally balanced, enjoyable, fun day care experience. We also practice basic obedience commands with the dogs throughout the day and reward them with something positive (praise, toy, play, etc.) in order to keep training fun and enjoyable. Commands practiced include: come, sit, stay, wait, off, leave it, down, watch, quiet, drop it, bring.

Waggin' Tails strives to provide an enjoyable day for all dogs. Morning time is usually a higher energy time of day. Dogs are excited to arrive, greet their human and canine friends, check out their environment and PLAY! We do a variety of activities with them such as fetch, pack walks around the yard, and water play, and they enjoy running, chasing, wrestling, and playing with toys and with each other. After morning play, dogs enjoy some quiet, down time in the afternoon, usually from 1pm-2pm. The afternoon is usually a bit more mellow with lots of time for love, tummy rubs, brushing, and more playtime with friends and toys. Because our facility is so spacious and primarily in an outdoor natural environment, there is always a quiet, comfy spot for dogs to rest and relax, or do independent activities like chewing on sticks, chasing butterflies, sunbathing, or watching squirrels and birds.
